Firm's News & Events

The Firm's PolicySherman & Sherman's only policy is to vigorously protect and assiduously secure the client's interest using all the resources available to the firm and applying all the knowledge, skill and experience acquired by its lawyers. Corollary to that policy statement is that Sherman & Sherman exists because of the client and for the client's interest; and every employee of the firm (members, associates and staff) is drilled into a culture of exerting all efforts, within the boundaries of the law, to protect and secure the client interest. On the basis of this policy, lawyers at Sherman & Sherman are required to be available to the client at all times (24/7) and to provide legal services, especially consultancy services, by telephone calls, impromptu visits to the firm's offices or to the client's offices at the request of the client, and scheduled appointments.

Accordingly, Sherman & Sherman is opened for business Monday through Saturday; and even on holidays, there are always two or more lawyers at the firm's offices. On Sundays, especially in the afternoon, there is at least one lawyer on duty to attend to emergency needs of the client; but very often other lawyers come in to complete work, which require completion before the beginning of the next working week.

Lawyers are also expected and required to attend to the affairs of the client wherever services are required and needed, including the remotest parts of Liberia, where any of the clients does business or its manager or other employee has gone for any reason.

As much as Sherman & Sherman vigorously protects and assiduously secures the client's interest, actions, deemed to be professionally unethical, shall not be engaged in by a Sherman & Sherman lawyer merely to protect and secure the client's interest. And whenever the firm determines that the conduct of a client's matter borders on unethical issues, the firm advises the client to desist from that course, otherwise the firm declines to provide services to the client.

The firm has several clients in a small economy who do business with each other or whose interests sometimes conflict. In any such event, Sherman & Sherman very often offers to mediate the dispute to effect an amicable settlement; but where mediation efforts are turned down or are unsuccessful, the firm then removes itself from the matter and the clients may retain the services of another firm or lawyer to manage their individual legal interests.

Finally, every matter of a Sherman & Sherman's client is important and treated with importance irrespective of the dollar value; and the firm's engages each matter with the goal of success and satisfaction of the client. Nothing less is acceptable!
